About Dm. L. Carter

Born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas, I still live there today with my family. I attended college at the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, and have written three novels – The Southern Ladies’ Glee Club, and Insanity Plea and Just Plain Crazy (Books One and Two in the Rae of Hope Series). Just Plain Crazy is currently scheduled for release in Spring, 2013.

In addition to several other hobbies and activities (such as gaming, doing fun things with my family, providing volunteer support for my community), I love to write. I do not limit myself to any one genre, style, or character type, and I try to have fun with my stories and my characters. If I had a motto, it would be something like “If it’s not fun, it’s work. If it’s work, I don’t want to do it anymore.”

I do have a “real” job, too (in addition to being a wife, mother, and grandmother) – a full-time, 8-5, get a paycheck job that I rely on to support myself and my family. And, until I have a best-seller with a movie offer pending, I will continue to perceive writing as a hobby. Note this doesn’t make me any less dedicated to my works; in fact, it’s just the opposite. I hope the fun and enjoyment I feel when I’m writing comes through in my books, and that it’s contagious to my readers.

And, Yes! I am a friend to other young authors (figuratively, speaking of course), and I will review books for free, subject to any limitations as set forth in my Book Review Policy. I am also an Indie Book Reviewer, and frequently share reviews with any other interested entities. See my Book Review Policy Page for additional information.

If there’s anything else you’d like to know about me, just ask! I’d love to hear from you!
